Biggest Field Ever for HillClimb

Gilford, New Hampshire – June 15, 2009—Bike week is all about the events, and this year it looks like the pick of the week for weather will be Wednesday and that means a great HillClimb.    This years field will be the biggest ever and will highlight Ridge Runners newest Pro Rider Shawn Farnsworth who took first at last weekend’s event in Pennsylvania.

The dual course is set, making it one of the most unique Hill Climbs in the United States. With the side by side format the spectators will see more riders, and be able once again to see the action right up close.

Each rider is given two attempts to reach the summit of the Ram Rod race course, and should see bikes fly up to 100 feet in the air. Competitors classes start as young as four years old on bikes up to 85cc’s to several amateur classes on machines over 750 cc’s, including a women’s specific classes and ATV’s.   Yes there will even be modified Harleys attacking the mountain.

The day will be filled with music featuring the band Camarojuana playing great Rock hits from the 80s, summit chairlift rides for just $5.00 each, the climbing wall and booths selling leather goods, clothing, the official Gunstock HillClimb T-Shirt, and raffle tickets to benefit local charities.

Great food will be available from breakfast sandwiches to fried dough, Pizza to Sausage Subs, and stop in the Stockade for made to order taco salads.   Coolers are permitted up to 14” with no glass.   All oolers will be inspected at the gate.
