Gunstock Adaptive is holding it's 5th annual fundraisingevent, Party on the Snow!
Gilford, N.H. - 2/5/2010 - GunstockAdaptive will hold it's annual one day fundraising event. On Sat March 13, 2010,Ski Teams will gather at Gunstock Mountain Resort. They come in costumes for aday of fun, and to support the non-profit adaptive program Gunstock Adaptive.
Gunstock Adaptive is a non-profitorganization providing quality on snow activities at Gunstock Mountain resortin Gilford N.H. People with special needs come from all over New England andbeyond to enjoy a day on the snow. The program provides disabled peopleequipment and instruction of skiing,snowboarding,and other winter activities.
Once a year, we hold a one day fundraising event called Party on the Snow. Intruth, we prepare for this day all year. Teams of people gather donations fromfriends, families, and businesses in support of the program. Last year we had 20Teams with a goal to gather 10 thousand dollars. We nearly doubled that figure.
Why do we need this event? We use the donations to increase the quality of theprogram. Monies are used to buy new equipment or rehab the old. We givescholarships to our students in need of help. And we continuously look toadvance our instructors skills through training programs.
When our Teams come to the Party on The Snow, they have a full day of funscheduled. There are gifts for just showing up as a participant! Party on TheSnow provides for Breakfast/Lunch and Dinner. Team members ski and rideGunstock Mountain from 8:30 am to 10 pm at night! There is a NASTAR course tohave fun with. Tubing is on a lift serviced set of trails is included for Partyparticipants as well. We have a awards ceremony where we acknowledge benchmarkwinners with big prizes donated for the occasion. After the awards ceremony, aRock and Roll band plays for hours of dancing.
Sounds good doesn't it. Come join us on Saturday March 13th 2010 and experienceit yourself. We are proud of the people that are involved with the program, andwe want to give back to the community. This year we've set a goal to receive25K in donations. Come and join us as a Team Captain for our Party on The Snowand help the program give a quality experience to those who use it.
